CRUCIFIGAT OMNES
for SSSAA a cappella | text from Carmina Burana
Commissioned by the stellar female quintet Papagena, for their Echoes from the Holy Land concerts of 2016. The text tells of the fall of Jerusalem at the hands of Saladin, and the loss of fragments of the True Cross. The five voices are arranged in a cruciform pattern, giving rise to some spectacular panning effects.
