A gentle lullaby to the Christ-child, BALULALOW is a setting of words by the 16th century Scottish poets James, John and Robert Wedderburn. The music has a restless, dreamlike quality; the unresolved cadences and gentle dissonances suggestive of a not-quite-sleeping infant.
