...AND WHAT OF MARRIAGE
SATB a cappella | text from Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet
In 2016 I was asked by my friend and singer Sheila Furse to compose a work to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of her marriage to fellow singer Mike. Together we chose the colourful and poignant words of Kahlil Gibran: "Let there be spaces in your togetherness; and let the winds of the heav'ns dance between you".
This arrangement playfully depicts the imagery in Gibran's words, and the singing, dancing and joy that love brings, even after 50 years.
