"A valuable addition to the 21st Century choral repertoire" Sir Neville Marriner

An exciting new voice in the UK choral scene, Matthew Coleridge’s compositions blend elements of Medieval music and plainsong with beautiful, shimmering modern harmonies.

His highly approachable music weaves flowing, melodic voice parts into a rich tapestry of sound.

Matthew Coleridge's beautiful choral music has been described as "expertly crafted, full of natural lyricism and luminosity" (Mark Hewitt), having "a natural mellifluous beauty" (Paul Carr), and showing "an intuitive and idiomatic approach to writing for voices" (Simon Dunbavand).

My short, a cappella works have been recorded by The Queen's Six and Kantos Chamber Choir, and my REQUIEM - my first large-scale work, has been performed numerous times and is recorded by RSVP Voices.

All of my choral music is available to download from this website in PDF format.

Based in Dorset, UK, I have lead choral workshops on my music in the South West and beyond. Please email me if you'd like me to come and work with your choir!
